Year 2 - Market Trip - 6th March 2018 for 7th March 2018

The weather is set, we are off to the market tomorrow!  The children will be taking part in the great Dorchester Market challenge.  Given a shopping list and a budget they have to find and buy the items on the list.  Back at school we have some entrepreneurs making their own yummy goodies to sell to the children with any money they have left when they return.  We will then use the food purchased to make a 3 course meal on Thursday.  The children will get to sample the food on Thursday afternoon.  The objectives of this trip are: To compare our market with the Gambian markets we have been learning about (geography).  To use money in a real life context (maths).  To buy and use fruit and vegetables to make some healthy dishes to try (healthy living).  Please ensure the children are suitably dressed with warm school uniform and coat.  They will need to carry their snack and drink so a small back pack would also be useful.  We will be back at school in time for lunch.
