Year 2 - Home learning – 16th
March 2018
The Red Reading Challenge: This week I set
the children in year 2 The Red Reading Challenge. This challenge involves children choosing a
book from the red section of the library and taking their time to read it from
start to finish! This reading can be
done at home and in school and reading can be done by the children or the grown
ups. The idea behind this is to get
children reading and enjoying longer texts and to persevere enough to get into
longer books. This week is a chance to
get started on the challenge. It will
take more than a week, but it would be great to make a good start to harness
the children’s enthusiasm for reading longer books. As you read with your child try to talk about
what you have read, ask questions and get them to ask questions.
Happy Reading.
It
is also week 2 of the Pudding Lane Big Build.
We have already had two brilliant houses made from lego to start our
lane off, I look forward to seeing more models coming in this week.
