Year 2 - Literacy Learning - Week Beginning 5th March 2018

This week our writing has been inspired by our trip to the market.  We have been looking at information texts and the different purposes of the writing in brochures and guides.  The children have then used what they have noticed to write their own Dorchester Market Guide.  Our success criteria for this were: writing in sentences, using amazing adjectives and to use wow words to describe what is there.  Their finished work is definitely the best yet.  Lots have progress has been seen especially with creative vocabulary and improving  handwriting.  Can the children spot different types of information when they are reading?  A touch of grammar: we have been revising the four sentence types: Statement, Exclamation, Command and Question.
