It has been brilliant having so many parents in to school this week sharing their interesting jobs with us. This morning we had Mr Marchant (Alfie's Dad) come in and show us some of the tools he uses as a painter. It was good to see all of the specialist equipment that he uses and the children were really impressed with the paint brusher cleaner.
This afternoon we also had Mr Scott in (Mrs Thorpe's Dad) to share some photos and interesting facts about being a zoo keeper. The children learnt all about the 5 different types of Rhinos and what they eat. Mr Scott bought in some horn and antler for the children to feel.
I thought I would share a picture of some of the fantastic art work that the children have done this week with Mrs Webb. They were told to paint themselves.
The children have also wrote poems, sketched pictures, made movies about themselves and made collages using the ipads. This has been a great week learning all about what makes us unique. We are in the process of putting up all the leaves on our Year 2 family tree. Please make sure you have a look at the collages that the children have made which are displayed on our wall in the classroom.
Next week we will be starting The Victorians!
