Lots and lots and lots to tell you....

Well we have had an extremely busy day with lots of visitors.

First thing this morning we had a music therapy session with Mrs Tarling (Callum's) Mum. The children absolutely loved playing lots of different types of instruments.  It was very interesting to see the beat of the music changing without anyone instructing. I must say I think Year 2 children are very musically minded!

After break time we then had Mrs Hopkins (Martha's Mum) in to talk about her job as a Nurse. Year 2 were very intrigued to find out about all of the equipment Mrs Hopkins uses when looking after ill babies. It was incredible to see the size of some of them.

After lunch we had Mr Ray (Sam's Dad) in our room to talk about his job. This was also a big hit in the room as everyone was fascinated to find out about Helicopters and see all of the pictures. They especially liked watching the videos of some Helicopters flying!

Finally at the end of the day we had Mr Taylor (Fenella's Dad) in to talk to us about being a Barrister. This was equally as interesting as the children found out all about what Mr Taylor has to wear when he goes to court. The children found it hilarious when they got to try on the wig and gown on themselves!

Thank you very much for all of the visitors today. You have given the children lots to talk about. They are all certainly Proud of what you all do. Please remember that it is a dressing up day on Friday. I have been told a range of things that the children are going to be (Rock star, train driver, nurse, policeman, pilot).

We also spoke to Year 2 about Hatch (the turtle that spends the evening at everyone's house). Although we have finished the Sea Turtle topic not everyone has had Hatch yet. I did a vote in Year 2 to see if the children would like to keep Hatch or finish his adventures and just keep him in school. I am sure everyone can guess that the whole class voted to keep him. I am very glad about this! Having Hatch come home is a great opportunity for me to see the children writing in their home environment and to promote speaking and listening within the class. We don't expect photo graphs in the book, a picture and writing done by the children is all we ask. I must say they really do cherish him.  Hatch will therefore be staying as part of the Year 2 family until everyone in the class has been able to take him home for a mini adventure.
