Welcome to Year 2!

Mr. Spracklen and Mrs. Webb would like to say a big welcome to all our new pupils and their parents in Year 2. We have a very exciting year ahead and on this class blog you can keep up with all the latest news, events and activities in Year 2. Parent helpers always welcome!

We are always keen to have parent helpers in Year 2! If you are free and willing of a morning or afternoon to help in class you will always be welcome. If you cannot commit to a regular time but would still like to help then please see Mrs. Webb or myself who will try to arrange times that are convenient. All helpers must be CRB checked before working with pupils - please speak to the Office team if you need any further information about this process.

SUMMER HOLIDAY NEWS!

Well done to Mr. MacBean and Mrs. Howell who are the first to respond to our discussion on SWGfL Merlin asking what has been your highlight of the summer holidays. Log on to SWGfL Merlin now by clicking the logo on our school website (www.princeofwales.dorset.sch.uk).

New SWGfL Merlin!

SWGfL Merlin has received a big update and now looks very different with lots of new features and extra functionality. Over the coming weeks Mr. Spracklen will be working hard to prepare our VLE (virtual learning environment) for the new academic year. In the meantime, why not log on to SWGfL Merlin in the usual way and check out what’s new? As one suggestion why not have a go on the V-Me editor which now includes new items like a space suit (see picture) or a pirate costume. To access the V-Me editor simply click the ‘Home’ tab followed by the ‘My Account’ button on the left hand side. For pupils in Years 3 and 4 (or 4 and 5 depending on how you now see yourself) click the ‘My Place’ tab to see you e-portfolio instantly. While you are on it why not update your blog with your latest holiday news? More ideas to follow, Mr. Spracklen.

Maiden Castle Farm Visit

We are off to the farm on Wednesday 28th March.  Don't forget your wellies, warm clothing, lunch and a drink.  We will be leaving just before lunch and returning for the end of the day.  We hope to find out about how lambs are important to the farm and how they are looked after.

Parentmail

Thank you for those of you who have already returned the Parentmail forms. We would really like to get as many parents as possible onto this new system, so if you don’t have an email address, but you do have a mobile number then please still complete the form. This new system has promised us a quicker and more efficient way to communicate with you,saving time and resources. If you have mislaid your form, we have spares in the school office, just ask.
