Year 2 - Maths Learning - Week Beginning 22nd June 2018

This week we have been looking at graphs and frequency tables as ways of presenting data.  The children took part in the Smartie challenge and discovered that orange and pink smarties aren't more common than the other colours and that the number of Smarties in each tube can vary.  We counted between 28 and 34!  Choose your tube carefully!  The children sorted and recorded this data carefully and were treated to a small reward for their efforts.
Today the children have really enjoyed conducting their own surveys using tally marks and frequency tables to collect their own data.  They then constructed bar charts showing their data more clearly and made comments on what they found out.  Great independent Maths learning, well done year 2!
