Victorian Schools
Next week we will be having our Victorian
Day where the children will be transported back in time to experience what it
was like to be a Victorian child; journey to the Crimea with Florence Nightingale;
bake for the Queen; Play Victorian games and even have afternoon tea with Queen
Victoria herself. So that you are
prepared for the day I would like you to find out a bit more about what it was
like to go to school in Victorian times.
Choose one of these activities:
1.
Make a set of rules for the Victorian classroom.
3.
Try out some Victorian handwriting.
4.
Find some pictures of Victorian classroom artifacts and label them.
5.
Find out what children thought about going to school in Victorian times.
6.
Write a diary entry as if you were a Victorian child, tell me what
happened when you went to school.
7.
Visit the bbc education website at: http://www.bbc.co.uk/schools/primaryhistory/victorian_britain/victorian_schools/
Find out about Victorian Schools and take
the quiz.
8.
Try the time capsule game at: http://www.bbc.co.uk/schools/primaryhistory/victorian_britain/
(This is not tablet friendly).
Any learning will be praised next
week. If you do one of the web based
activities, just let me know at school for a Superhero point.
