This week we have continued to look at fractions, finding fractions of lengths and quantities. The children have been using basic techniques of sharing, using fraction diagrams and lengths of paper, string and even strawberry laces to calculate 1/2, 1/4 and 3/4 of these quantities. At home please keep reinforcing what 1/2 and 1/4 are as you divide things up. Be as practical as possible so children understand how to find these fractions accurately and quickly.
