Learning update!

Hi everyone,

We launched a collaborative learning project today with the aim to produce information and facts about Roald Dahl, working as a team, choosing how to collect and collate information by Friday! A super bustling atmosphere with everyone fully involved.

Numeracy saw us launch into learning about division: as sharing, repeated subtraction and some children wanted to know what happened if it didn't share out equally - this lead to remainders!!!!!! Children have also embarked on Andy Warhol and his work, more human body work exploring information and learning about where parts of the body (inside and out) are. We also began learning about duration in music.
Our Science, literacy, group reading, numeracy problem solving and RE this week have also, without realising, helped us to apply many of our developing reading skills - comprehension, skimming, scanning, reading more closely, note taking, researching...........Wow, you're sooooooooo clever Year 2!

Well done to Eliza and Max who have already brought in their amazing home learning projects! Excellent!

I have also had a couple more people mention to me about coming in to read us a story - so please come and book a date with me - thank you!

With regards to home learning diaries, after a group reading session I am endeavouring to write in their books on that day about their reading and then in the teacher comments box for the previous week, so please flick back for more!

Thanks, Mrs. Johnson
