Hi everyone, and welcome back to the Spring term! We have hit the ground running this term, and the children have come back refreshing and raring to go!
In Maths we have started a new unit all about money. The children are really enjoying this and managing different amounts of money - coins and notes. If you wanted to help at home you could create a shop and ask children to pay for different items. This will help children to add up money and also work out how much change they will get back.
In English we have looked at expanded noun phrases and compound words. We will apply this to our written work in the coming weeks.
In Science we have started a new topic about living things and their habitats. We went on a walk around school to find things that were living and dead. We also looked at things that have never been alive.
Year 2 will continue to have PE on a Tuesday afternoon, we also now have Coach Luca on a Friday afternoon teaching us basketball. If your child does not have their PE in school, please can this be sent in.
A reminder about the Year 2 parent information session on Monday at 9am in the hall. We look forward to seeing you there.
Also quick reminder about snacks. We have fruit available everyday at breaktime, however, if you do want to send in a snack for your child then please do.
