A couple of things to look at when writing at home: Capital letters in the right places, Spelling the common words in the middle of the reading record, and using WOW words that they have heard in their own writing.
This week we have really got into Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. We have looked at the language Roald Dahl uses to describes the rooms and the sweets made in the factory. All of the children then tried to use some of these wonderful words in their writing. The children then let their imaginations run wild and designed their own sweets, writing recipes with some magical ingredients. Lastly the children were given a golden ticket today and we read chapter 11 - The miracle, where Charlie finds the golden ticket. We also watched the film clip. Everyone then had a go at writing their own invitation to go on the back of the ticket. A whole week of wonderful writing!
Keep your eyes peeled for the Golden Tickets, information will also be given on the Blog!
