Stone Age Strength!

We continued working on the Stone Age project at the round house and it was commented on at how hard we had worked and they didn't expect us to get that much work done - so much so that there wasn't much left for the other classes!!!!!! Proving that not only do we have super strength Year 2, but that we worked exceptionally well as a team!!!! We added more to the beautiful cave paintings, continued in the garden and completed digging out the shape for a huge chalk hill mural which can be seen on the slope in front of the round house area - take a look! Can you guess what it is?

We have completed our praise poem drafts and the similes and metaphors created by the children are magical - well done!

More Captain Caveman cooking, reading about "The Human Race" - (Horrible Histories) in group reading, and continuing with our Stone Age art rotation this afternoon - the mud rock standing stone circle is coming along!

As I previously mentioned, we are looking to create a reading area in our classroom inspired by the children's ideas and requests. One of their ideas was to have a class library for use during daily group reading sessions.

So here comes a request..........If you have any unwanted books that you think are appropriate for Year 2 readers, then we would really appreciate any donations to add to our class library. We love short novels, fiction and non fiction, comics, picture books, books written by well known authors - Roald Dahl, Francesca Simon, Enid Blyton, Jill Murphy, Jacqueline Wilson...........
Also if you happen to have any off cuts of material that we could use to make into comfy, bright cushions for the reading area, that would be fab too!

Thank you!!!!!!! Mrs. Johnson, Mrs. Webb, Mrs. Creed and Mrs. Long
