This week in Numeracy we will thinking about symmetry. This week we will be looking for children who recognise symmetry in shapes when the mirror line is vertical, and those who also recognise that a shape can be symmetrical about a horizontal or diagonal line. At home, why not have a go at making your own poster to remember this, an example of this can currently be seen on our radiator by the main door. This week we will also be looking for evidence of children recognizing that some shapes can be folded in more than one way and that others can be folded in only one way. Can you spot anything symmetrical on your journey to school?
