A big thank-you!

Mrs. Webb, Mr. Hopkins and myself would like to thank everyone for their kind words and gifts. We have had an amazing year in Year 2 with your wonderful children all of whom have given so much this year. We thank-you for your continued support as parents with your child's learning - it makes such a difference! We look forward to seeing the children grow and mature into fantastic young people! Thank-you again, Mr. Spracklen (on behalf of the whole Year 2 Team!)

Some classes have been collecting donations for the photos taken with Wendy and the Olympic Torch. Apologies for telling some of you that the charity Wendy raises money for is Breast Cancer Care when it is actually Cancer Research UK/Race for Life. The link for Wendy's JustGiving page where donations can be made is https://www.raceforlifesponsorme.org/wendypittendrigh You can read all about why Wendy was nominated to carry the torch by clicking this link: http://www.london2012.com/torch-relay/torchbearers/torchbearers=wendy-pittendrigh-7622/. I do dog tricks!

I shared this website with the class yesterday and promised them I would tell you the link on our class blog. 'I do dog tricks' - http://www.idodogtricks.com/index_flash.html. Crackers is Mr. Spracklen's Yorkshire Terrier capable of doing many, many tricks. All you have to do is type in a command and she will perform your request. Its up to you to figure out which tricks Crackers can do. Any of the common commands work, but there's also a few secret ones like vogue.

Skip2BeFit

Year 2 really enjoyed their work on Monday when we completed a series of jobs with visitors from our link schools in Hampshire (Belle Vue Infants and Newport Junior School, Aldershot). This included work with John McCormick from Skip2BeFit where all the children undertook a range of fitness related activities. Bouncing blueberries and special skipping ropes from Skip2BeFit can now be purchased from the school office for £5 each! To find out more about Skip2BeFit check out - http://www.skip2bfit.com and to play the 'Blueberry Bounce Game' visit - http://www.skip2bfit.com/static/Blueberry_Bounce_Game

Fighting Fit Fortnight

Year 2 have made a super start to Fighting Fit Fortnight! A special thank you to all those parents who joined us for Wake and Shake on Wednesday morning, there were some good moves being thrown down! If you missed out, you will have another chance to join us for Wake and Shake this coming Wednesday in the school hall at 8.45am. As well Wake and Shake on Wednesdays, we have been enjoying a little bit of 'Just Dance' on the Nintendo Wii in the mornings. This had helped the children get their bodies and minds active for the day ahead.
