I do hope that you are able to do plenty of reading over the next week. 

Don't forget to take "Accelerated Reader" Quizzes when you can.

We have put 2 other activities into your (yellow) 'Home Learning Books'.

1. HUMAN BODY SCIENCE

Can you label these parts of the human body?

How many internal body parts can you name? (Things inside we can’t see that are inside us)

Can you make a list?

2. MEASUREMENT

You will need a tape measure, measuring scales and a capacity jar. You'll need a bit of help too.

1	How tall are you in m and cm?
2	How many millilitres are there in your bottle of shampoo? Read the side of the bottle (ml)
3	How much does your box of cereal weigh?(g)  (Look on the pack.)
4	How tall is the tallest person that lives in your house? Measure in m/cm
5	How high up do you sleep when you’re in bed?  – measure in m/cm
6	Find the biggest potato (or apple, or banana) in the bag.  How much does it weigh?   (g)
7	Measure the distance from your seat in the lounge to the television.    (m/cm)
8	How much does your breakfast cup/glass contain? (ml) Estimate or measure.
9	How many millilitres are there in your bottle of ketchup? / or tin of soup? Have a look at the label on the bottle.
10	If a cereal/soup bowl was full, how many ml of liquid could it hold?

Year 2 Home Learning - for Friday 1st October

           

Marking the start of our “Food and Faith Fortnight”, we would like the children to write an acrostic for the word “Farming”. 

The children should write 7 sentences relating to “farming”. The sentences should start with the letters in the word farming as indicated in the example below.

If you would prefer to write a bit less, perhaps you could do 4 sentences for the word “Farm”.

You will notice that we have sent a "Home Learning" book home with the children. This can be used for any writing activities that the children want to keep safe and share with us at school.

Computing with Mr Spracklen (Week 3)

 

Today in Computing with Mr Spracklen our aim was to understand that algorithms follow a sequence.
