Year 2: Amazing Art, Maths, English and Science!

Apologies about the radio silence. We have been really busy and the children have been working so hard.

In Maths we have been focussing on telling the time. As shown in a previous blog, this has been really tricky. If your child has an analogue clock then it would be great if they could wear them.

In English we have been looking at the story 'Last stop on Market street'. The children have been writing expanded noun phrases and today have started to write a story based on this one. We set up a 'bus' journey for the children to experience the sites and the sounds linked to our book.

In Science we have been looking at things that are living, dead and never alive. We are focusing on habitats again. Unfortunately we haven't been able to schedule in the trip that we had to postpone, however this will hopefully happen in the Autumn term. We will hopefully have a trip in July, buses are a little difficult to book at the moment. I will keep you posted about this.

In Art this half term we have been learning about the artist Jean Michel Basquiat and learning about the use of colour, texture and chalk. With some fantastic outcomes!

If you have any concerns or questions please come and see me at the door.
