Week 5 in Year 2: Science, English and Maths

I'm sure you were all wondering why your child brought home some playdough! Well yesterday in Science the children were investigating how solid objects can be twisted, bent, stretched and squashed. They were looking at a range of objects and so they all got to take the playdough home.

This week the children have been rewriting their very own stories based on our text focus 'The bear under the stairs'. They are very excited as they have been typing these and will have them printed. The children are then going to illustrate them and be published authors 💜

On Friday we are going to continue our learning about money and open an ice cream shop. The children are going to take it in turns to work out how much money they are going to spend (plastic money) and come and purchase their ice cream with one topping (real ice-cream and topping!). They were very excited about this today!

I'm having a few issues with photos uploading so I will add them in the blog on Friday. In the meantime, if you have any money boxes at home please encourage your child to count the coins.

Thank you to everyone who came to the parents evening on Tuesday. I look forward to seeing everyone else tomorrow night. I will leave the children's books in the cloak room and then call you through when I am ready.
