INDIA DAY!

WOW! What an incredible day we have had in Year 2. India day has been such a success and was enjoyed by all. We are so proud of how children behaved and how involved they were in all of the activities. Children took part in 4 activities today which were:

- Cooking with Prebha and Thomas. Children made traditional Indian food. This included potato curry, poppadoms, onion bhajis and chapati. All children tasted this food, and some thoroughly enjoyed it and had more than one helping!!

- Creating rangoli patterns.

- Taking part in bollywood and traditional Indian dancing.

- Using chromebooks to take part in set activities.

This has by far been one of the best days we have had in Year 2!

Year 2 - Week 5

Hi everyone, we hope you have had a good weekend!

We have had another great week in Year 2 and have lots more fun planned for the coming week.

The children really enjoyed helping to build the roundhouse, even if they did get quite muddy. We also had a great swimming session with the added extra downfall of rain on our way to 1610!

We finished our unit of time in Maths and we will be moving on to looking at efficient methods. In English we started our new book 'ocean meets sky' and will be continuing with this the coming week. In Science we looked at whether bigger seeds grow into bigger plants and will be observing their growth.

Just a reminder that on Wednesday it is our India day. A letter has been sent containing all of the details for this day. Any questions about this, please contact us. We are all very excited about this!

Friday is a POWSA Non-School Uniform Day.

See you tomorrow!

Year 2 - Week 4

Hi everyone, we hope you have enjoyed the sunny weather this weekend!

We want to start this blog by saying a huge WELL DONE to all of Year 2 for a super assembly! It was amazing to see how far they have come and how confident they are. Thank you to all who came to watch.

Last week we had a busy week in Year 2. We enjoyed a cricket input, that the children loved and also a wessex music roadshow assembly. I'm sure the children have told you all about these events. We started our topic of time in Maths and this will be continuing next week. Due to assembly practice we did not start our new book in English, however, we will be starting this from tomorrow. In Science we planted sweet pea seeds and will be observing their growth.

On Tuesday all children will be helping to build our new roundhouse. Please could children come to school in outdoor clothing suitable for the weather (forecast is currently rainy). Sturdy shoes are preferable to ensure safety during the workshop and clothes usually worn for forest school activities that you don't mind getting dirty. Children should also bring their school uniforms, school shoes and also socks or tights to get changed into after.

Any questions, please let us know.

See you tomorrow!
