Hi everyone! We hope you have had a super weekend and we look forward to seeing you tomorrow!
This week in Year 2 we have been very busy with our learning but have also had lots of fun. We finished our maths unit of multiplication and division. This week we will starting our new unit - Unit 8: length and height. In English we continued to look at our main text - The Owl and the Pussycat. Children are really enjoying reading this text. We looked at the use of capital letters, questionning and imperative verbs when writing instructions. We will be looking at a new text this week called Grandad's camper. In Science we continued our topic of animals including humans and looked at how sneezes can be spread. We will be continuing with this topic this week.
In History we have been focussing on two individuals - Florence Nightingale and Mary Seacole. We have been learning about their lives and why they are significant. In our DT topic we have been making moving monsters which children will be bringing home at the end of the unit.
Just a reminder that it is World Book Day on Thursday. We are asking children to come into school dressed as their favourite book character. We also have bedtime stories on Thursday 5-6pm. We are asking children to come into school dressed in their pyjamas to listen to a range of stories.
Friday is a non-school uniform day and we are asking children to come into school wearing their home clothes.
Any questions, please let us know!
Miss White, Mrs Bernard, Mrs Burgess and Mrs Thomas
