Internet Terminology

Today in Computing with Mr Spracklen, Year Two were seeking to understand the terminology associated with the Internet and searching -

Year 2 - Week 1

Hello everyone, we hope you have had a wonderful weekend. We have had a great week in year 2, and the children have settled back in well to the second half of the Spring Term.

We have continued with our multiplication and division unit in Maths and this will continue into next week. The children really enjoyed reading the owl and the pussycat and have loved writing for different purposes such as a love letter, why the owl and the pussycat can and cannot be friends and also looking at contractions e.g. I've. won't. We will be continuing to focus on this book next week. In Science we started our topic of Animals and Living Things. Children took part in an investigation where we measured and spans and found out who had the biggest hands. We will be continuing this topic next week.

Welcome to Spring term 2 - Year 2

Hello everyone! We hope you have had a wonderful half term break and are raring to go for Spring term 2!

Tomorrow we will be starting our second unit on multiplication and division. We will be looking at 2 times-table, divide by 2, double and halve, odd and even numbers and 10 times-table. In English we will be starting a new writing unit focussed on the timeless classic 'The Owl and the Pussycat'. In Science we will be starting a new unit about animals including humans.

PE will be on the same days - Tuesday and Friday. We will still be having basketball lessons by Coach Luca for the remainder of this term. 

We are looking for one mystery reader for Monday 4th March. If you would like to do this please let us know.

Year 2 - Week 5

Hi everyone, we hope you have had a good weekend and are feeling ready for the final week of this half term! Just a reminder that Friday is an inset day, Thursday will be the children's last day before half term.

We have had such a fun week in Year 2. It started with a KAPLA workshop, where children took part in a whole school activity to build a scene using wooden blocks. The children really enjoyed this and created a masterpiece! On Wednesday we took part in a HSBC money matters worksop where we looked at saving money. Thursday we had our maths workshop - thank you to those who came!

In English we carried on looking at the theme of being water protectors and wrote a speech as if we were the girl in the story. We will continue looking at this book next week. In Maths we continued with our unit of multiplication and division which will carry on into next week. In Science we continued to looked at living things and their habitats and wrote about our dioramas. 

The home learning for this week is the first week of our mastering number which was sent home last week. We ask that you bring these folders back in on a Friday so we can give you the next week's activities. Any questions about this please let us know!
