Week 1 - Summer term and farm trip

Happy Sunday everyone!

Wow, I am so impressed with how well your children have settled back into year two after the holidays. They really have hit the ground running and I am so proud.

In Maths we have looked at the unit of time. We looked at o'clock, half past, quarter to, quarter past, time to 5 minutes and also minutes in an hour. Children came home with a clock to help them practice at home. Next week we will be moving onto statistics.

In English we have been focussing on The Jungle Book and writing character descriptions. Next week we will be writing Jungle Rules and instructions for looking after certain animals.

In Science we are looking at plants and this week we planted some seeds and compared seeds and bulbs.

WOW! SWIMMING WAS AMAZING! We had our first swimming lesson this week at 1610 and the children were incredible. We will not be swimming next week due to school closure, however, this will continue the Thursday after.

On Wednesday we will be going to Maiden Castle Farm. Children can come into school with trousers suitable for the farm, however, we ask that they wear their school t-shirt and jumper. Please also send children in with wellies and a waterproof coat. Any questions about this trip, please let me know.

See you all tomorrow,

Miss White, Miss Greedy, Mrs Hibberd, Mrs Burgess, Mrs Thomas and Mrs Jackson-Young
