Happy Sunday everyone! We hope you have had a great weekend and are looking forward to another week in Year 2.
We have launched our topic this week all about the United Kingdom. The children have all shown great involvement and engagement with this. This week we have looked at the UK as a whole, which countries make up the UK and these countries capital cities. Next week we will be focussing on England.
In Literacy next week we will be writing acrostic poems that link to England. In Maths we are continuing with 2D and 3D shapes, and this unit comes to an end next week. Our next topic is money.
In Science we have started to look at living things and their habitats. We started this topic by looking at the characteristics of living things and started to learn all about MRS GREN, this acronym will help us to know whether something is alive, dead or never alive.
In PE we have started a topic of gymnastics with Mr Treble, the children are loving this! In computing we have started to looked at questioning and made a pictogram about where we live.
This week we have the parent information session. This will be at 9am in the school hall on Thursday 12th Jan. I hope you can make it as I will be talking about the following term and any other important matters.
Spellings, reading books and home learning should have come home on Friday. If you don't have any of these please let at adult know at the door when dropping off or picking up.
See you all tomorrow!
Miss White, Miss Carney, Mrs Hibberd and Mrs Burgess
