We have been finding that some of the children in Y2 have been unable to take books out of the library. This is because they have already reached their 3-book limit and have left books at home. Please can you check at home that books are not accidentally hidden away.
We are really keen to keep the momentum going with our Accelerated Reader challenge; - completing plenty of appropriately challenging books and taking the comprehension quizzes that accompany them.
Many thanks!

- Finding “Words with Suffixes”
Can you write down some words that have a suffix at the end?
The grid below should help you. Can you find 20 words with suffixes? - or, maybe more?
Be careful - the spelling at the end of the root word needs to change if it ends in the letter y (happiness, greedily)

Year Two - India Day and Class Assembly
The children in Year Two are having an "India Day" on Friday 15th March. We will be doing dance, artwork and cooking with an Indian flavour over the course of the day with some visiting experts.
The children's Y2 Class Assembly is also on that day - at 9.20am.
We do hope that you can come along.
We are hoping that the children can come dressed for the occasion. We appreciate that the majority of children in India do wear the same modern clothing as children in the U.K., but would like to encourage the children to wear clothing with an Indian style. If this is tricky, then smart non-school uniform will be fine.
Many thanks

Home learning Year Two -week of Half-term Holiday
Home learning Year Two - week of Half-Term Holiday
- Response to a “story introduction”.
The children have been asked to write the next part of the story, following on from this introduction:
I was feeling very odd when I woke up this morning. I was strangely hot and felt as if I wanted to scratch myself. When my alarm clock went off it actually scared me, and I leapt out of bed. I landed lightly on my feet.
When I looked into my bedroom mirror I couldn’t believe what I saw.
Could this be possible?
I had turned into a chimpanzee!!!

Year Two - Home Learning Weds 6th February
Year Two - Home Learning week of Wednesday 6th February
As a “home learning” activity this week, we would like the children in Year Two to have a go at making a model fish out of “junk/recyclable” materials.
We have made some examples, which are hanging up in the classroom; so the children will have an idea of the sort of thing we are after.
Many thanks,
Y2 Team
