Year Two - Happy New Year of Exciting Learning

Happy New Year. 
We hope that you have had a fantastic Christmas Holiday.

We are looking forward to more exciting learning in this Spring Term.
Just to give you a head-start on some of things we will be doing in the first couple of weeks back at school:
Literacy - 
Myths and Legends / We will be using some ancient myths and legends to inspire some exciting written work.

Maths -  
We are going to be looking at Maths that involves money.

Our learning objectives for Year Two are as follows:

• Use different coins to make the same amount
• Recognise and use symbols for pounds (£) and pence (p); combine amounts to make a particular value
• Solve simple problems in a practical context involving addition and subtraction of money, including giving change

Science - Materials / Our objective : Identify and compare the suitability of a variety of everyday materials, including wood, metal, plastic, glass, brick, rock, paper and cardboard for particular uses.
