We have had a lovely trip to Arne today. Thank you to the RSPB who guided around the reserve and spoke to us about the different birds we could see. We looked at woodland habitats, wetlands and beach.
What a Wonderful Year in Year 2!
As we come to the end of the school year, it’s the perfect time to reflect on what a fantastic year we’ve had in Year 2. From the very first day in September to our final weeks in July, it has been such a joy to watch the children grow in confidence, knowledge and independence.
We’ve had a busy year filled with exciting learning, memorable moments, and plenty of smiles. Whether it was exploring new topics in science, diving into our favourite books, or working together to solve tricky problems, the children have consistently shown curiosity, resilience and enthusiasm. We’ve seen friendships flourish, imaginations stretch, and so many “lightbulb” moments that have made us incredibly proud.
It has been a pleasure to see each and every child develop in their own unique way. They’ve worked hard, supported one another, and grown into thoughtful, capable learners ready for the next step in their school journey.
Thank you for all the support you’ve given throughout the year — it truly makes a difference and helps create the strong partnership between home and school that is so important.
We’re incredibly proud of the children and all they have achieved this year. They should be proud of themselves too!
On Monday we will be having a final celebration. The children can bring a toy in to school. This might be a game, soft toy or something to play with. However we please ask that nothing that is precious or electronic please. Also no tanks or pretend guns etc. We will be having a movie afternoon.
On Tuesday we will be watching the Year 4 leavers assembly.
See you all tomorrow

Hello Year 2 families
What a wonderful day out we have had. We arrived in Norden at about 10.15am and walked to the station. We stood on the bank at the far end, looking towards Corfe Castle, to watch the steam train approach. Once we had boarded we enjoyed a trip down the tracks towards Swanage, calling in at Corfe Castle and Harman's Cross on the way. We walked from the train station through the park and down to the beach. We were looked after very well by the lifeguards there and we had a quick paddle in the sea. Mrs March might have got slightly wetter than planned! We then made sandcastles before heading back up to the bandstand for lunch. After lunch we had a great time in the park before it was time to walk back to the train station. The train was a little delayed but we had a great journey back. Time flew . . . we had so much fun!
