Write 3 things that you would like to do during your life.
(These must be things that you have not yet done.)
Yesterday afternoon all of the children got to come and visit Mrs Hall and I in Year 3. We spoke about what Year 3 will be like and what to expect.
The children filled in the sheet to tell us about all of their favourite things and anything that they might want us to know.
We then thought about what we would like Year 3 to be like and made a potion. To make this come true we then added some 'magic'. It was fantastic to hear the children add things such as fun, imagination, creativity, friendship, love and kindness. We really are going to have a brilliant year and if you have any questions or queries you can obviously ask Mr MacBean or come and see me (Mrs Thorpe) by the Year 3 door or you can email me directly at b.thorpe@princeofwales.dorset.sch.uk.
Write a review for a book that you have read and enjoyed recently.
Make sure that you include these things:
Why you enjoyed the book
What the book is about (plot, characters, setting for fiction books – content , organisational features for non-fiction books)
“DUCKS’ DITTY.” By Kenneth Grahame
Can you decorate the page that you've been given with sketches of the dabbling ducks and the characters of Rat and Mole as they take the little boat down the river? (The poem has been stuck into your yellow books.)
Can you recite this poem? – or a part of it?
All along the backwater,
Through the rushes tall,
Ducks are a-dabbling,
Up tails all!
Ducks’ tails, drakes’ tails,
Yellow feet a-quiver,
Yellow bills all out of sight
Busy in the river!
Slushy green undergrowth
Where the roach swim—
Here we keep our larder,
Cool and full and dim.
Everyone for what he likes!
We like to be
Heads down, tails up,
Dabbling free!
High in the blue above
Swifts whirl and call—
We are down a-dabbling
Up tails all!
