Today is the start of our Inclusive Sports Weeks and to mark this we will be watching a presentation with Paralympian Helena Lucas in our 11.200 am Assembly.
Over the next three weeks we will be doing a range of different sports
Friday 3rd July - Whole School Dance Day This is a socially distant Dance Day unfortunately so we can't have everyone in to watch. However, we will be posting videos of our dances. Year Two will be performing the Hokey Cokey!
Thursday 9th July - Year Two Sports Afternoon - The children will be busy with sprinting, hurdling, football dribble, small-ball-throw, obstacle course and relay. They will have some time practising for these events in sessions with Mr. Treble in the week before.
Tuesday 14th - Boccia - We will be having a Y2 (Group A and B) Boccia Tournament.
We are sorry that parents, carers and friends will not be able to come along to watch and support these events this year. We will of course be taking loads of photos and videos for you to enjoy.
Oh ..and watch out for the Staff Sports Challenge !!

Year Two - We're looking forward to seeing you on Monday
Hello Year Two,
We are really looking forward to seeing lots of you on Monday when you come back to school.
Things will be a little different here compared to what you are used to, but don't worry, lots of things will be the same too. We will talk the changes when you get here -so no worries! It will be great to meet up with your friends and get back into some school routines. Some of you will be working in the upstairs "Secret Kingdom" in a group with Mrs. Bernard and Mrs. Thomas. Some of you with be in the "Engaged Kingdom" with me and Miss. Hootton. I know we are all really excited about working with you for the rest of the Summer Term.
Can I remind you that you need to make sure you bring a hat, sun cream and drinks bottles - all labelled please. You will also need your Power Maths book 2C, your RWI Spelling book 2B (if you have this at home) and any school reading books that you might have at home - especially James and the Giant Peach and The Twits which we will be using at school.
Can I also remind you about completing your "Reflections of Year Two" and emailing these to me.
d.macbean@princeofwales.dorset.sch.uk
Don't worry if you don't get the chance to do this; we can now do it at school. Many thanks to those of you who have already sent it to me.
Warm regards,
Your Year Two Teacher, Mr. MacBean

Year Two - Telling the Time
From Tuesday of next week the theme for Year Two's Power Maths lessons is
"TIME".
"TIME".
Beyond the actual lessons covered, it would great if this could be brought into your daily activity at home. For example, drawing attention to what time you are doing things, how long you are doing things for, how long until you do things, etc.
The curriculum coverage addresses these areas:
- Read time with increasing accuracy to 5-minute intervals on both an analogue and digital clock.
- Use vocabulary such as o'clock, half-past, quarter to, quarter past, a.m./ p.m., morning, afternoon, noon and midnight.
- Compare amounts of time and carry out calculations to find out how long something lasts.
