End of an era

I know we all say it frequently, but we really don't know where the time went! A busy, enjoyable year with a lovely, enthusiastic class for learning who have grown in many different ways through Year 2. If I think back to teaching the class on a Thursday back at the start of Yr 1... I am sooo proud of their achievements so far
as I am sure that you are too.

Also, many, many thank you to all for the lovely home made cards and gifts, all very generous and well thought of, we are truly touched, many thanks x

We had to say a sad farewell to Noah and his family. The class made him a beautiful card with lovely personal messages. We wish him all the best in Bournemouth, we have his email so his friends can send him messages and keep in touch!

Happy holidays to you all, a time to spend relaxing, enjoying family and friends, STAY SAFE! This will re-charge us all ready for a fresh new start in September - Year 3!

Learning about ourselves

Today year 2 took part in our Jigsaw session where we learned about differences between boys and girls.  The children were great at naming body parts and could sensibly explain which parts are private and should be kept that way.  We looked at clothes and why we wear them and how these differed between boys and girls.  Finally the children drew pictures showing themselves wearing their favourite clothes and described what makes them individual and different to someone else.

Brilliant day at Kimmeridge!

What a fantastic day Year 2 have had today! We learnt all about Kimmeridge and the creatures that live on the shore line. After listening to a talk by the Dorset Wildlife trust we got to go down to the shore line and look for limpets, bennies, and crabs! All of the children thoroughly enjoyed searching the rocks and finding evidence of where a limpet had once been. We saw many little crabs and even found the case that a ray hatches out of!

Year 2 has bought back a selection of empty limpet shells, seaweed and crab malting's so that Miss Johnson can see this next week!

Many thanks to all of the parents that helped on the trip today and a big well done to the very sensible and inquisitive Year 2!
